I have followed all Presidential elections since the 1970s and have connected them with the market since 1980 when Reagan was elected. The data that I am posting is my own observation and is very likely my own bias opinion but I do think that all markets tend to be “lack-luster” leading up to all of the past elections that I have observed, I.e. uncertainty followed by a robust rally, some more robust than others.

We just witnessed the latter.

There has always been a post election rally, regardless of which party won the election. The sector which rallied was the main difference because of the party in power, based on the election outcome.
