Agreed--Iraq was a bad idea all the way around. I think, unfortunately, that at this point the best idea might just be to declare victory and leave. Of course, we aren't going to be able to get all the new Iraqi army and police recruits out, so they will be slaughtered. Sort of like all those Vietnamese who were helping us waiting on the top of the building for the helicopters that couldn't carry them all . . . or the Kurds we abandoned and left to their fate.
