"Well it was the source that you cited that noted the Deistic/Theistic basis for the D.O.I."

What you are responding to was this"

"That is too too funny! It is hardly worth responding to. It is so replete with the absurd, the fatuous, and the wacky! I suppose it is simplest to simply quote people who have contributed their special knowledge and greatness to humanity as they have steered us away from infantilism and superstition"

What I had responded to was your remark...

"Certainly; but the basis of those rights and freedoms is the Theistic notion of equality and our common Creator God who grants them."

And your remark was directly from my comment

"It is a Republic of rights and freedoms."

In addition to that remark (which was mine), I gave several explanatory paragraphs (which were mine).

So I was not relying on any of the people who might have considered that the Declaration considered the realities of the period and the political forces represented by religion. Religion has always held political influence because it has the capacity to control the thoughts and acts of many people. You need to learn to follow the discussion fairly...rather than flinging words about like too wet clay.

"It's not the first time you have used "the absurd, the fatuous, and the wacky!" to bolster your position"

It was your words I referred to as "absurd, fatuous, and wacky". I then put your claim under a microscope.

So you are correct that I used the absurdity of your statement to emphasise how preposterous it was.
