Stephen; As long as it can be bought for $100 per copy at Apple stores that will allow cloners to make the units and buy the OS over the counter.
It will chill the low cost clones but not the high end. Sort of like WIntels where the cloners just buy win95 from dealers.

If there is an attempt by Apple to stamp out all cloners, then Apple is dead, walking around with money in the bank, but dead.
