I'm amazed at how close you and Kyros saw the situation.
FWIW, it amazes me that we could pull it off and maintain the universal health care program (despite its shortcomings).
Fantasizing, I wonder what would become of our economy and attractiveness for foreign investment etc. if we continued to reduce deficit at the current pace? That makes me wonder what that pace of reduction actually is. We have arrived at 30-40 % of GNP from what previous level over how much time? In other words would the present debt reduction pace mean we break even in 20 years or 75 all factors (inflation and growth etc)remaining the same?
