Hi Darffot,

Your IRA seems to be the same as our RRSP plan in Canada. Full income taxation as it is withdrawn.
Some time ago I read an article that questioned the advisability of too much in an RRSP/IRA. Of course many factors affect the applicability of that statement but the gist of it was, that as we get older and our wealth compounds, that we will be paying an exhorbitant amount on wihdrawn RRSP and IRA funds. Furthermore, it suggested that in the event of early death, the RRSP/IRA are collapsed and the estate is taxed full pop that year. This is tough on inheritance.
