A very reasonable response.

I understand your reason for having your rules on the thread (no posting the link or the person's alias), however if one sees their words identified as being bigoted, it is much the same as being called a bigot. At that point it isn't surprising if there is an attempt for that person to object.

And of course their are other pot stirrers like myself who will want to make their own statement, much like those who post on this thread regularly.

You suggest trying to reason with bigots to set an example. I would suggest that to have one's words posted on this thread is a slap in the face, whether or not the link or alias is posted.

Believe it or not, I think that it would be better to post the link to the bigoted statements, that way you would at least give that person a chance to respond. It might be a way to get people to think of any hidden bigotry that they may harbor or at least to clear the impression that others may have that they may be a bigot.
