Elroy, I am currently staying with family in London. It's plainly obvious that the bubble has been burst. Every other house has a to Let or For Sale sign. On some blocks you will see half a dozen houses in a row for Sale. I think I have seen the future of California, NY, Mass, and a lot of other blue states. Absolutely surreal save the fact that the Economy is still strong here in the UK..for now.

With all this talk of deflation vs. inflation, if the U.K. is the example, then the U.S. housing bubble will burst simply with the end of the current business cycle...which looks to be in the middle half of 2005.
Due to the extent of the boom, the bust will be equal in nature.
