That article is interesting and the data seems to have been prepared prior to October 2004. California had the wettest October in over 100 years. Los Angeles received 4.5" of rain when we normally have about 1/3".

Lake Tahoe, which was mentioned in the article, had the snowiest october on record. And this is all not even including November where we have continued to have rain at least once a week.

I've been waiting for a significant dry period because I dug a hole several weeks ago for a koi pond that I am building. The night after I dug the hole, the rains started. And since that night, the hole has not completely emptied such that I could continue with my project. The ground is saturated in my backyard.

I'm going up to Tahoe for thanksgiving, I am curious to see if the water levels are still extremely low.
