sandintoes, Hitting a human target is the basic intention, and in many cases the body will contain the slug, but it takes a good marksman to do that every time. With a higher powered pistol, the shell can, easily, pass through a body, and hit someone else in it's path.

Some circumstances are damned if you do, and damned if you don't. I know that, if any member of my family was being threatened, I would shoot the attacker, and let the devil take the hindmost. Nothing is as important as one's loved ones.
