It is REALLY hard to make money selling developer tools and their number one competitor on the Windows side is the Gates himself. From the Macintosh perspective the whole business is up in the air. Where are they going to get incremental sales of their tools in a market that is basically being abandoned? The attendance at the WWDC was WAY down this year, indicating that MUCH less money is being spent on Mac development.
