My humor is someitmes sharp big guy.
By the way i just defended you against Ed and Bilow in a post to Sun. Necons can be attacked as stupid in their view but certainly few neocons relish the casualties. And those casualty lists always seem to be brought up. Costs of war (human and otherwise) must always be figured in but we cant make policy based solely on them.
I am getting tired of this war. I will continue to support it until the elections. After that, if there is nothing visible to me as positive, i will push the public end date and after that the three state solution. Some article i read recently called Iraq tribal. Now all i can think about is how we subdued the indian tribes with a policy of ethnic cleansing and genocide. Of course that cannot happen in iraq in todays world (TG) however the alternative for us may be even worse, protacted war. Iraqis have to pick up the ball and run with it. They must win their civil war. At some point our continued active support becomes counterproductive for a new iraqi regime. And at some point in time the war becomes untenable at home unless there is far more mobilization and connecting the dots to terrorism that we have seen so far. I hope that we will finally be right on this one. Its a long time since folks like bilow and winn were wrong as in the war itself will be very costly to us. But as much as i hate to say it, those two have been more right that we since the war in predicting the intifada and its seeming success. Time for us to be right but as i said to GST, odd are 50/50 and we have to live with that and at some point be prepared to alter course if necessary. mike
