I don't think having a bisexual as the protagonist is a problem at all.

There have been many successful movies with gay characters. They are usually in comedies, like "The Birdcage," but also in more serious movies like "As Good As It Gets," which made well over $100m.

I don't think anyone has a problem with gay characters in movies. What I think people WILL have a problem with is any kind of sexual behavior between men being actually depicted on the screen. People don't want to see Colin Farrell engaged in a passionate kiss with another man.
