I don't believe that 'shooting the messenger' is a very effective way to handle policy issues.

Nor do I believe that true news should always be supressed just because it's painful.

(I also do not believe that the particular Marine in the spotlight will likely be adjudged 'guilty' of anything... especially when considering the fact that his was the SECOND group to shoot the wounded insurgents after they had initially been wounded, their weapons removed, and left behind for later pick-up. Sounds like a classic --- and not at all unexpected --- failure of communications.)

But I'm content to let the proper authorities in the chain of command investigate, and I do not want to leap to any kind of premature (and uninformed) decision about the events.
