If there is no basis in the original handshake for ABT's position, how can they think this does not affect future relations with potential partners? That is just nonsense. Maybe like George Bush ABT management just isn't interested in any relations and, further, figures in just a few short years it will all be someone else's problem. Years ago Rick said ABT stunk as a BT partner. Chiron as well if I recall correctly. I haven't noticed many partnerships happening for Chiron recently. Oh, I would love to watch the trail unfold. What a scream that CAT is more than willing to facilitate dissemination.
