On tourism to the USA: fredoneverything.net

I used to go regularly, but haven't since Y2K because after 911 and the Homeland Security mania, and being an alien and being mindful that totally innocent people are being locked up in prisons, missing flights, or at best inconvenienced and annoyed, I don't want to run foul of some overly-enthusiastic authoritarian nut-job in a uniform wearing a gun.

Fred is an American and he isn't liking what he sees. So you can imagine that a dumb Kiwi might have a worse experience.

I've been to Beijing and it was actually quite pleasant. Filthy air and other issues notwithstanding.

I suppose I should go to the USA and see for myself just what they are up to. They need the tourism dollars. I believe tourism to the USA is down heavily over the last few years, despite the reduced dollar. Google would know.
