Osama bin Ladin said he shared your opinion of the Afghan elections. I think the Afghan elections were a great thing. The turnout was massive. The threats of Al Qaida and Taliban remnants to prevent the elections turned out to be hollow threats. The Afghan people were brave to disregard the threats. It was a great thing for all liberty loving people.

Re. opium. Yes, Afghanisti peasants have been growing if for thousands of years - literally - the ancient Indians and other cultures in that part of the world testify to this. I think this will be a difficult problem to crack.

Re. Karzai - he has the support of the majority of Afghans. And that's a fact.
