Some of the articles are calling the SKS an "assault rifle". That is false. An assault rifle is a machine gun, that has a button or switch to change from semi-auto fire to fully automatic. Previous articles and thousands of them put out by anti-gunners have called the SKS an "assault weapon" under the old 1994 law banning manufacture of "assault weapons". This is also false as the SKS does not have a detachable magazine. In addition, every single anti-gunner article I've seen to date regarding SKS rifles has been 100% that these rifles have no hunting purpose whatsover. This is the first article to dismiss that. The SKS fires a short, low powered (compared to full size rifle ammo) .30 caliber projectile, big enough for a deer but nothing bigger than that.

I think the killer is this has mental problems and I was sorry and surprised that another hunter didn't gun him down after the first shots.
