Follow the link and read up and down a few posts. It was part of a general rant by Lizzie against the elderly, who she blamed for the high price of homes in the Bay Area. If you look at the replies - it's clear that the members following the discussion were pretty clear on the intent of her post.
Then again Bush wants to kill every man, woman and child who opposes him in Iraq (and probably in the US and France) so Republicans are the most evil people in the world right now using that standard.
Stunning display of logic. You start with a false assumption (Bush wants to kill anyone who opposes him) and follow that immediately with your conclusion (republicans are evil), which is not logically tied to the explicit false assumption. You need another explicit assumption - that all republicans support bush in his supposed wish to kill - and then your construction would at least be logical - although unsound. The fact is many republicans oppose the war in Iraq. Further, many registered democrats voted for Bush and approve of the Iraq war - does that make democrats evil? BTW, don't assume I'm a republican just because I oppose expressions of hatred towards Bush, his family, or the elderly.
It's foolish to try to elevate Lizzie's vile ranting into some kind of political stance. For Lizzie nearly every discussion of issues degenerates into her expressing hatred for one group or another, be it real estate agents, the elderly, CEOs, republicans, red states, Chinese, or Indians. |
