I use to track intra-day futures when I was day trading in 1 and 2 minute time frames.

Now I normally stick to swing trading and don't normally watch the futures as much as I track the NASDAQ chart beside of whatever stock(s) I am positioned in.

This gives me a feel for events that may be unfolding, such as 9/11, without me having to scan the news too closely.
