>>Tom, I like the SPX because it is so manipulated. They bring it down and take it up to screw with people. As long as you don't get caught up in the head fake you can make money.<<

Hi Lisa--Now I assume that I am talking to THE Lisa--as opposed to your alter ego.

OEX premiums are almost directly related to what is happening on the S&P500 futures--so one can take advantage of the volatility with either index. The only reason that I prefer the OEX for trading the indices is that it is the most liquid--a better chance of a good fill esp when the markets are volatile. The same reason that I like to trade the SPX futures--its the most liquid of the futures on the indices.

Now on the manipulation of the SPX/OEX etc--don't agree with you that it is any factor of consequence. But Kevin and I have been through this discussion on MM manipulation with someone else who shall remain nameless--and I got nowhere. Recent volatility in the futures has been caused by the locals taking a low profile role in the pits and therefore there has been less liquidity when sell/buy programs hit. Locals have taken some significant losses recently. But if you are saying that if one is nimble one can take advantage of the volatility -- I agree with you and you are very good at doing so-- a whole lot better than I am.

>>you KNOW my trading strategy by now! complete opposite of TT

Re the comment to DSG, I did not realize that we were at diametrical opposites in our trading approach. But I guess it just goes on to show that one can make money using varying approaches since both you and I seem to be doing OK.

On TBR, let me know if you take a position--I am getting ready to take the plunge--but I have never traded this one so -- I defer to your greater experience.
