A few words are in order about my prejudices I described in that post. My feelings have nothing to do with race or religion. Anyone who believes he has no prejudices belongs to one of these 3 groups (1) he is ignorant of his own prejudices and so he can never guard against them, (2) he is ignorant of other cultures and people out there, otherwise he would have known of some that would really rub him the wrong way, or (3) he has no convictions and thus cannot be bothered with anything enough to form a prejudicial opinion.

Having some bias for or against something is not half as important as how one deals with it. By being aware of my own biases I can guard against them. Before I voice an opinion as to what I think should be done, I pause and apply that policy in a much greater context and see if it still makes sense to me...or as I suggested to Mike, "instead of Iraqis picture Israel under the same conditions and see how you would deal with it".

As to why I don't like Arabs or why I like some of the Jews in NYC, they are in general uneducated and racist. They have a tribal mindset combined with pride to the point of stupidity (something that they share with many Israelis). Culturally they have many practices that I dislike and through out their history they have done little to contribute to humanity as a whole. I was very specific as to which Jews I liked. The ones who are native to the greater NYC area tend to be more humanitarian than the average citizen. They genuinely feel for the oppressed people around the world, with the possible exception of the Palestinians. And almost all of them are well educated people beyond their schooling. Most of them support Israel on a matter principle, but do not agree with its oppressive policies. A few of them are under strict "orders" from their parents not to marry Israelis.
