Why does it matter? If you believe in individual liberty, it shouldn't matter whether their sexual preference is a result of biological chance or personal choice. Furthermore, whether it is a choice has no bearing, IMO, on the issue of whether they have a "right" to marriage. Kerry's comment was clearly his way of having it both ways (no pun intended). He was pandering to the "gay rights" concerns of the left while simultaneously staking out a position against gay marriage. And it appears to have worked - he was completely excused by the left for opposing gay marriage while they vilify Bush for taking the same position on the same grounds - "protecting the institution of one man-one woman marriage." Hypocrites, the lot of you.
