That article takes big pride in the statement that 63% of those with incomes over $200K a year voted for Bush according to exit polls.

Well those people statistically are the cheapest charity givers of all, using the same statistics as the statement about blue states being cheap. Their deduction for charitable giving ranges from an average of 6.43% of their adjusted gross income to a low of 2.525%.

While when you take into count all taxpayers the %'s are 4.65% for the lowest state up to 14.51% in the highest state.

So he picked his numbers carefully. He's not interested in telling the whole truth, just the part that makes his cheap jab at blue states. The fact appears to be that the methodology used in that report has a built in bias towards low income states.
