Nothing justifies Vang's response. Nothing. If you shoot at me and miss, and I am armed (usually so), you are dead. You will not get a second chance. Neither will your gang buddies. If I believed that Vang climbed down from the tree to leave, evidence that a round hit 30-40 feet behind him would probably be enough to satisfy me that it was self-defense. The gang mentality makes people stupid...any evidence of alcohol would help convince me they were acting stupid. Men who drink together get stupid together. It happens all the time. They had to have been stupid, they raced to an altercation in the woods unarmed. Nobody even had a sidearm...more stupidity.
