James,

Re: the Zionists really did make the land flower and grow, and I doubt had it not been for their return we would still see a barren desert.

Ummm, do you mean aside from all the Palestinian olive and citrus groves and truck farms and such that the Israelis stole?

I find it hard to come to grips with the enduring success of Israeli propaganda. For example, the fantasy that the Israelis were moving into barren lands still has a grip on the naive here in the U.S.

Unlike some, I find reading and/or interpreting the various permutations of that fairy tale called the Bible to be an utter waste of time. A real student of the Middle East is well advised to read the history of money, power, exploitation and mesmerization as to reading about the fantasies called religion.

Remember, the history of the Jews and their nemeses in the Middle East is much better understood as a commercial, tribal and power-politics story than as any of the several competing versions of the "one true God" fairy tale. What a silly distraction that is.
