<I can't see the US trade deficit not reversing.> I agree over time... ie YEARS, or decade... that's a long term deal... and what % of current account deficit is trade anything?? The debt level is becoming HUGE... and those payments can't be reversed exept by paying it off... in fact, I wonder how much total payments to overseas lenders would INCREASE with an increase in rates??? Bottom line: Will the rest of the world keep sucking up dollars as it continues to decline???? If not, LOOK OUT! OTOH, you don't keep giving the drunk more liquor and expect him to slowly sober up... or keep giving him credit night after night because you're afraid he won't pay you what he owes you already... DAK
