The one in London just looks like a big old grey building but it has this enormous scary eagle hovering on the roof. This pic looks better than it really does. They say they matched the architecture to the other buildings in Grosvenor Square where it's located. 64.233.179.104 The strangest juxtaposition of architecture I saw last week was at Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh. We had just left the remains of the Abbey, feeling overwhelmed and moved by the history (terrific audio tour at Holyrood) and in front of you is this enormous modern "thing". It's the SCottish parliament building and I thought it was terrible. Now I am reading about it, and it seems it was a very big deal- with huge cost overruns and the designer dying midproject.
