'If the US calfs out' - he's talking the Apocalypse Cow scenario, which if it comes to pass will hit us just as hard or harder, there'll be tumbleweeds rolling down the streets of Hongcouver .... we can 'search out other markets' till the end of time, and nothing will replace US demand ... thinking of forestry here, in which we already sell all we can overseas, maybe one quarter of what we produce ... forestry is getting whacked hard right now with the high loonie, don't think we're exempt up here, when they catch a mild cold we get pneumonia
Oil will do well, until it's pumped out, sure ... gold, yeah, various other metals perhaps .... but the bulk of the economy is tied to US fortunes, and you don't have to like Bush to realise that [whew, eh] |
