Well, it is certainly true that material wealth can only go so far, and not very far at that, towards a person achieving true happiness. Since you mention the Dali Llama, I would say that I am familiar with Buddhist priciples and I have great respect for them. How much TV do people watch a day? I don't know. We watch sports regularly, and not too many other shows. The last show I really tried to watch regularly was Seinfeld. But I am just one person in one family. You say America is indeed sick, but I see the people around me, the vast majority but of course not all of them, trying to be kind and trying to become better educated. he others are probably just trying to be happy, but just don't know how to go about it properly. Helping those when possible is one of the greatest things one can do.
