Otherwise, why would he keep sending special envoy to China? Although I would not be surprised if he completely convert himself into a real spiritual monk as he getting older. He already said at least once that he wants to go back to Tibet as a spiritual leader, and stay outside politics, although no one can be certain that whether he will keep his promise.

That said, generally speaking, a true Buddhist should content with a very simple live, and usually should be very happy. A lot of Indians do. So by that sense, few Buddhists in China are true ones. A lot of them pray for making more money, better business...<g>
