"I have already stated my case."

Not to me, you hadn't.

"The planet has over populated and the natural barriers of time and distance no longer apply to accessibility and exposure. It no longer allows for isolation either relative or complete."

Agreed.

"That had been the natural means of limiting the entire population to disaster and allow smaller samplings of population to develop resistance to the contagion or perish along with it."

Well, most contagions with a mortality rate up in the high percentages (pathogens poorly adapted for symbiotic relationships) burned out... this is true.

"So now the stage is set for a destruction by pathogen. So be it. From the ravages of the disease may a better world be born."

'God's will', eh? So you think we shouldn't take any preventative measures, or invest in basic research?

Well, that's a POSITION, anyway... A bit GLOOMY and defeatist for my druthers, though.

(Although the Black Plague probably is the major event that made the Enlightenment --- and our modern world of human rights --- possible... by killing off so many of the serfs and indentured servants that the nobility and theocracy could no longer exploit them, as had been their traditional wont, and trade unions and such emerged because of the common man's new-found power from the relative scarcity of their labor... I don't think I'd recommend a repeat in today's world.)
