accounting sucks when you havn't sold anything yet but you get to count it anyway. very interesting though. somebody spilled some beans and hence the volm gets explained. now shh. whisper this stuff. we got some v lo estimates sitting there, awaiting a surprise.

I'm not an accountant, but I wonder if it matters that much. After all, you do it every quarter, so your current quarter's profits are modified by the mistakes that you made in the previous quarter's estimation. I would think that if a company intended to falsify its earnings, it could do so for at most 1 quarter.
