<You jumped straight to an anti-forestry position, tsk tsk ... there's lots of legitimate criticism can be made of the industry, but if you try to replace all wood products with plastic and metals>
No one is saying that... the price of wood should TRIPLE!! The US has just seen a housing boom of incredible proportions, and it's arguable that Canada as a whole didn't gain shit. Your arguement about 'cutting plans', etc. just don't wash... their just examples of the problem.
<You jumped straight to an anti-forestry position, tsk tsk ... >
What's wrong with that... it's obviously the right position the way things have been done and are currently being done. I doubt there is a real scientist on the planet that wouldn't agree that either things have been tone terribly wrong, OR that they just don't really know the ramifications of what has and is being done. Things will change in our lifetimes I suspect as data comes in... the days of do unless it's proven bad will probably be reversed.
<No DAK, you are unclear on the concept - the beetle attacks standing wood ['on the stump' means green, uncut, still growing] ... in the problem areas, nobody fell anything pre-bug,>
So your talking cutting infested dead trees to 'save' some economic value... that's not even an issue is it?
<can't believe you guys getting sniffy about loggers,>
LOL... depends on the mine, etc. It's the same thing only water, and will be a big issue going forward no doubt. It's certainly going to be something to "get sniffy" about.
