Go to this link:

oanda.com

Click "Graph Relative Change' (to the left of Step 2)

When the Applet runs change Month to Year, press Next

This shows Gold vs CAD etc and shows why CAD gold is uninspiring.

Changing base currrency to XAG shows silver underperforming most currencies this year.

Setting base currency to USD, I started comparing currencies vs USD this year. CAD looks great, of course.JPY is a laggard (buying more of that) as is MYR (Malaysia's pegged currency excites me as much as China) and SGD. MYR is flat, SGD is around Japan's performance. Interestingly CHF outperforms EUR

Malaysia is a good reason to buy EWM as well.

Thai Baht is good but not as stable as Malaysia. It is flat on year.

Do you know Korean Won outperformed CAD YTD?

I think the CAD may top out (especially if Dodge spooks the markets by holding in Dec) but I'm afraid to take profits. If it flattens it will be a no brainer.

Anyway, I need a 3D graph of USD, gold and other currencies for the best answers.
