This might have helped earlier this year, but it's too late now. China's economy will never survive the winter, it's going to suffer a severe Malthusian resource crisis and will shortly be on the equivalent of war time rationing. On top of it, you have loss of confidence in the USD, people standing in line getting rid of Old Maid Cards (USD). This is not manageable any more, it's basically a Panic.

The US and Japanese response to the glut of USD sopping around the planet, is print more of it, and feed blowoff stock market speculation.

How to time or identify the final phase of the unfolding Train Wreck? I'm open to suggestions, but the spike in copper well over prior highs

would be a real dagger to the heart, especially given that finished product manufacturing is already shutting down.

We finished the week with only 98,474 MT of copper in Comex and LME, and that's basically no slack or inventory reserve at all. The next prolonged deep freeze in Beijing ought to wipe out distillate inventories, and cause massive brownouts and outages, in turn shutting down the whole economy for a large part of the winter.
