What I am going to keep my eye on is what happens next.

I think that to most Americans who voted for Bush there was a linkage between 9/11 and the invasion of Iraq. I'm not saying that is necessarily a valid point of view I just think that’s the way a lot of people saw it. Bush's reasons for invading Iraq ultimately may have been nothing more that some sort of "daddy" issue - Saddam being his father's bogey man and all.

Still Bush now likely feels that his winning the election has legitimized his war with Iraq. He may be looking for a new war to start as he doesn't seem that interested in things like the economy and he is a “war” President after all.
