Re Christmas decorations...I used to put up all sorts of stuff...but now use real green wreaths as a centerpiece in both kitchen, dining room, and of course on the front door. The kitchen table is more casual....this year used those little garlands that are foil and glittery, red and green...don't open them, just use them as a candle ring...used cathedral mosiac glass votives with the little garlands around them at each end of the wreath, and in the center, but the 3rd glittery closed garland so it shows, and used an antique crystal dish with a long stem on it...tealights in all candles. And a few ornaments nestled in the wreath.
Dining room has a white cloth, red and green cloth over that, that has gold threads running through it...mirrors under the green wreath, waterford candleholders on each side and in the center an antique English heavily cut oblong bowl on a silver stand...all with tealights. Also, put a large antique Irish heavily cut vase at the left top side of the table...it looks super with tealights in it. The pie crust table on the side has all sorts of crystal liquor decanters on it, and a tall flute shaped vase, that I put artifical pretty poiensettias in... And the antique sideboard on the otherside of the room, with the corner china cabinet have candlesticks, and a few special ornaments around....
Now, all I will add is lights and greens to the mantles in living and den rooms...and do something fun in the power room...
Easy...only thing hard is the tree....<ggg> |
