NO LOOKING THIS UP!

I've always thought the word "arch," as in "arch conservative," or "arch foe," etc, meant, like, super-, or very committed, or echt, or hyper, or strongly typical, or exaggerated.

I just learned that it means something else entirely.

But I have the feeling that most people are under the same misimpression I've been.

How about posting whether you have shared, at least to some degree, my error....

Oh heck, I'll just give the dictionary.com quick-definition:

adjective: (used of behavior or attitude) characteristic of those who treat others with condescension
