The "Bryd Amendment" is a noxious piece of legislation put in place by a protectionist Congress. World trade agreements and processes are in place for a reason; they've found this amendment to be counter to international trade law and it will be disposed of in due course.

The president is always held hostage to re-election concerns of his party; its time for Bush to use some of that "mandate" to correct some issues that threaten international trading relationships.

Michael,
You are dead wrong. The EU and other nations are hiding behind the facade of the UN and the WTO, pretending to be fair traders and reasonable, when in fact, they are subverting the rule of law to undermine the US and Americans' freedom and interests and welfare at home and abroad. America is under attack and the enemies are many. Its time to kick some ass as the only "reason" such other nations understand is brute force.
