LB, There are more democrats in academia than republicans because the liberal/dems sit around on their butts, and try to make profound statements on how the world should work, while the republicans are out in the field, and getting the job done. Conservative republicans don't have the time to lollygag in the arms of tenure in academia. They have work to do.
