I don't eat at Baskin and Robbins every day, but I do enjoy a good scoff of the fave flave now and then. But basically I stick to the knitting and eat mine fudge sundaes. These solid multi layered dishes require a plan of attack and long term commitment. The caloric return over time provides for much more security than the quick dip cones that the flakier set seem to prefer.
There is always a torturous internecine connection between these companies from buck to bush it seems. I have heard of a few of those other guys from time to time.
The reason I like the aforesaid property is not the U but the OD connection. It has hematite and 0.20% cobalt. There could be other goodies if they were sought over the quite substantial, but unexplored strike length.
I did quite a bit of basinal prospecting in SK for SMDC. Found quite a few boulder trains. The theory was that other more westerly faults might yield Rabbit Lake like profusion of sources. There was some indication that some faults might get radio like, but nothing was ever found. A few porphyries of quite spectacular appearance had about a lb per ton of U and were fairly extensive and low on overburden. SMDC was not interested in them, really. They were looking for radio sandstone. We found that in boulder trains. I had a technique for following trains that was fairly scientific and worked well. Nobody else in the company found the art. All the trains I found, some with up to 7% U, stopped where I left them after two years. They seem to lead to something, and could be extended. I talked to Hoffmann about doing that, but he did not offer the kind of deal I thought was reasonable.
There are all kinds of sources in the basin. Thorium, Potassium, and Uraninite. I figure they related to basement porphyries basically, which come up around the edges. The sed stuff is the richer though. Not enough work was done on faults that exist there, or the basement regolith structures. Even SMDC was shy to do the proper work and drill a bit.
Some on site U sources were found by SMDC but they were off property and were ignored. Don't know what happened to them.
