People ARE there government. Who do you think was in charge in China if it wasn't the Chinese? Every little Red Guard was a real live Chinese person. That is why people can change governments when they want to. That is why our founding fathers changed our government- and I understand how and why they did it quite well, as well as understanding various demographic and economic issues of the time which helped them do it.
So, I gather you do not recognize thing one about what I gather, and I've no idea where you are coming from.
How many countries would you like to "change" and are you going to use the army of the US to do the changing? If you merely want the US to set a good example, I think it tries to do that (although strange forrays like Iraq tarnish us, imo).
Freedom...don't let that be synonymous in your mind with what you think freedom is (and I'm not suggesting it is- I couldn't tell what you are saying.). Sometimes whole populations (or most of them) want the "freedom" to live under totalitarianism- lots of Russians, for example, look back on communism with nostalgia. Are they "right"? Who knows. But freedom, in order to be freedom, needs to contain the seeds of its own possible destruction- or it is not real freedom, for it precludes the choice of being non-free. Now that's a complex issue, and I've distilled it in to a very short post, so if I said anything in a way that wasn't clear, let me know politely. And let's not talk about what is natural for me- because you really, and truly, have no idea, and don't know the first thing about me. So let's not make this personal. That would be a very silly thing to do, and totally unacceptable to me. |
