Haqihana - more democrats in academia than republicans .

In general true but the exceptions are also interesting. Notice none of the schools listed in George Will's column include the land grant universities, particularly the A&M's and State Universities. In addition, the departments like business schools (particlarly the economics and operations and quantitative based faculty) tend to be more conservative. Many in applied engineering too and professional schools like veterinary, pharmacy etc tend towards conservative politics. Just some observations from within a random sample of one.
