You have it completely backwards... our trade deficit is so high because Americans are buying more imported goods than our foreign trade partners are buying from us... our economy is strong, their economies are weak and cannot keep pace with our overseas buying power... the weaker dollar makes our exports more attractive to our foreign trade partners, as a result they buy more of our exports, and our trade deficit declines as a result... this is simple mathematics, did you miss that somewhere along the way in school? Look at how these equity markets are responding, they only support my point here... GZ
