Well, much of this is a mystery because they just "appeared" before some special event and we all thought they were supposed to be a temporary thing -- or at least that was the line we heard at the time. From what we gather, they were "requested" and so they were supplied. However, even before they appeared, there had been requests to have the streets narrowed or rerouted in that area (which is impossible if you know the city). They will, no doubt, never go away as they've been there for several years now. However, the crux of the matter is that it was a very stupid location for that kind of building and should never have been allowed. Unfortunately, it isn't moving, so we just have to carry on and try to ignore that it's there.
