This is promising, if true. Note: ending official PA incitement is about the only step the Abu Mazen is strong enough to take on his own, so don't get your hopes up too high:

Report: PA orders end to incitement
By JPOST.COM STAFF

The Palestinian Authority leadership has ordered PA-controlled media to stop all incitement against Israel and Jews, the London-based Arabic daily A-Shark Al-Awsat reported Monday.

The order also pertains to video clips, songs and music videos which call for the continuation of the armed intifada, the paper reported.

According to the report, the order was given 24 hours after Prime Minister Ariel Sharon urged the Palestinians to put an end to incitement as a prerequisite to the resumption of talks based on the road map peace plan.

Sharon made the call at a meeting of Likud central committee members last week.

Since the death of Yasser Arafat, PA-controlled television and radio broadcasts have focused their programs on the life of the late Palestinian leader.

According to Al-Awsat, the Palestinian Authority has begun collecting media clips of Israeli politicians, military and religious figures, as well as television programs that demonstrate incidents of incitement against Palestinians.

The same day that Sharon called for an end to Palestinian incitement against Israel, PA Prime Minister Ahmed Qurei said incitement against Palestinians existed on Israeli media.

Qurei called for both sides to work to reduce incitement. In the past calls were made for the establishment of a joint Israeli-Palestinian task for against incitement.
