I found the letter more sad than funny. The extent to which most Americans would agree with the view point presented is only a matter of degree, or perhaps capacity for eloquence would be more accurate.

While I certainly appreciate the temptation to respond in kind on a personal level, creating a joke page and offering a flip response is most likely the wrong approach on an organizational level.

Joe Six Pack has been conditioned to believe supporting the lie is patriotic. At this point in time, he is still operating at the level of herd instinct and is incapable of questioning the consensus of the herd. When the herd dashes off in panicked flight, Joe is right smack in the middle of them because instinct has taught him there is safety in numbers.

Before Joe Six Pack can even begin to learn the truth behind what happened on 9/11, he must first realize failing to do so is an act of treason against everything he holds dear. There isn't anything funny about it. A page for letters from traitors might be appropriate, but the idea there is even a hint of comic relief in putting all of us in harm's way, through Joe's total failure in civic responsibility, is ludicrous.

And I believe my position is well enough established where I don't need to comment on this truth.org gem:

"We don't think 9/11 was "a George Bush conspiracy" and you won't find anything quite so kindergarden on our site"

9/11Truth.org is laughable all right, but funny they ain't.
