Washington Post says Hokies will play Auburn in the Sugar Bowl unless Miami wants it more. The consolation prize is likely to be playing Florida in Peach Bowl. Not too shabby either way.

MSNBC projects VT vs Alabama in Peach bowl.

...The Gator Bowl has scheduled a 3 p.m. news conference today to announce that Florida State will play West Virginia in its New Year's Day game. The Continental Tire Bowl in Charlotte would then get the next selection of available Big East schools, and will probably announce tonight that they've chosen Boston College to play North Carolina. The Eagles join the ACC next year.

...In the ACC, the winner of Saturday's game between No. 9 Miami and No. 10 Virginia Tech gets the league's automatic berth in the Bowl Championship Series and would probably play Auburn in the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 3.

The loser of the Virginia Tech-Miami game would play Florida in the Dec. 31 Peach Bowl in Atlanta, and Georgia Tech would play Iowa State or Colorado in the Dec. 21 Champs Sports Bowl in Orlando.
