The data reveal that a transition is underway from dial-up to high-speed Internet connections. For this reason, this report focuses on what Americans are doing with their high-speed connections." Further in, among many other points, it highlights the great divide, how some areas (mostly rural) are just not getting broadband offered, and if so, it's usually a choice of one and not very good. That is probably why the FCC is pushing broadband over powerlines.
